The City of Burlington has launched five Temporary Incentive Programs under its Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP).

The City will continue accepting applications for all five programs while funding is available.

Development Charge Reduction Grant – Ownership

• This temporary program provides development charge (DC) reductions, covering up to 100 per cent of DCs for low-rise ownership projects, and up to 30 per cent for mid-rise and tall ownership projects to support the creation of new residential ownership units.

Missing Middle Municipal Fee Waiver Program

• This temporary program provides a waiver of up to 100 per cent of eligible municipal permit fees to a maximum of $40,000 per project, to encourage the development of missing middle housing.

Development Charge Reduction Grant – Purpose-Built Rental

• This temporary program provides a grant of up to 100 per cent of DCs to support the development of new purpose-built rental units.

Tax Increment Equivalent Grant (TIEG) – Purpose-Built Rental Residential Program

• This temporary program provides a property tax rebate of up to 100 per cent of property taxes for five years following the completion of a qualifying purpose-built rental project if project requirements are met.

Accessible Design Grant Program

• This temporary program provides grants for projects that incorporate accessible, universal, or barrier-free design features that exceed Ontario Building Code requirements.
